Investigations
Investigation handles all crimes of a serious nature that require extensive follow-up investigation.
Other responsibilities of the Detectives include:
There are currently positions for one investigator and one detective in Police Investigations.
They serve as the liaison between the District Attorney's Office, City Attorney Office and the Kosciusko Police Department.
In addition, Investigations will also write search warrants as needed by the department and assist Officers with drug enforcement paperwork.
They process daily criminal paperwork and evidence to assure it is complete and that the evidence is forwarded if needed, to the State Crime Lab.
They also assist the Chief of Police in planning for Critical Incidents and annual events held in the City.
The Officers who earn the right to be Detectives are highly self - motivated and have an intense desire to discover the truth. They possess the traits of honesty, loyalty and attention to detail that assist them in presenting solid cases.
Investigation's normal hours of operation are generally Monday through Friday, 08:00 to 17:00.
